About Captain Cole Sikes

Founder and President of Anchor Yacht Management Captain Cole Sikes started his career in the marine industry at the age of fifteen.

With a love of fishing, Cole was drawn to the charter boats in his hometown of Freeport, Texas at a young age and he would often go to the docks in the afternoon as the boats came in and offer to clean the boats for the captains and then assist in cleaning the fish. On the weekends he would go out early and catch bait fish to sell to the charter boats.

At 16, Cole started to work as a Mate on the charter boats, fishing for everything from blue marlin to speckled trout. After receiving his OUPV (6 pack) USCG captains license at the age of eighteen, Cole realized the marine industry was his future.

After serving as captain on several charter vessels along the Gulf Coast and commercial vessels in the Gulf Coast oil field, Captain Cole moved to South Florida for the winter season of 2008 to run several fishing boats in Miami-Dade and Broward County, spending winter season in Florida and summers fishing Texas and Louisiana.

In 2010 Captain Cole was recruited by BP Oil to supervise a fleet of search vessels for the BP Oil spill. Stationed in Panama City, Fl and Houma, Louisiana, Cole had a fleet of over fifty vessels and crew members to manage and supervise. After the spill Cole took a position on a 110’ private yacht chasing spear fishing world records. 2 years later Cole moved on to a Mates position on a 130’ mega yacht.

After spending a few years in the Caribbean and surprisingly finding love in Barbados, Cole was married and thinking about starting a family.  Wanting a more land-based career, and after running several yachts ranging in size from 50’ to 130’, he realized there was a need to fill the gap between fully crewed mega yachts and mid-sized yachts and thus, Anchor Yacht Management was born
